Christine Nicole & Steven De Almeida

When Christine’s love of miniatures was paired with Steven’s woodworking skills, magic happened, and the book series Beth’s Amazing Escapades was born! Christine has been writing poetry since she was a child and won awards for her research essay writing during her time at Northern Lights College (NLC). She graduated with Honours from NLC’s Social Services Worker Diploma program in 2020. Before attending NLC, Christine worked as an Optician and Contact Lens Fitter for thirteen years. She has also volunteered with the Literacy Society and tutored ESL (English as a Second Language) students.

Steven has worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) for the last decade. Before his career as an AME, he worked in residential house construction and in the oil and gas industry. Steve discovered his penchant for woodworking and building miniatures over the course of the last five years. He makes Christine’s dollhouse and miniature furniture designs come to life.

When they are not writing books for the series, Christine posts on Beth’s social media pages, dabbles in amateur photography, and creates handmade gifts while Steven spends time rebuilding his ’79 Chevrolet truck, posting woodworking projects on his Instagram page, and playing the piano or guitar. Christine and Steven live in Northern British Columbia with their two cats, Tommy and Gypsy. Together, the couple travel to visit family and friends in Western Canada whenever possible.
